As in think about how many weeks are left till Christmas...think about the ridiculously slow pace you do everything...think about the fact that in the weeks leading up to Christmas two of them will be spent away from home and two more will be spent recuperating from a minor surgery...and then refrain from pledging.
But anyone who has known me longer than five minutes knows that the whole thinking before speaking/acting thing really isn't something I do very often. Or ever. So naturally none of these things were put into play when I signed the pledge and now I am sitting here the eve of my tonsillectomy (wish me well!) realizing that an all handmade holiday really isn't within reach for me. I'll keep trying, but you know, life, got in the way this year.
I did embroider these little chef's hats for my kids. Nope I didn't make them myself, but I did add my touch. Hey, if I succeeded at all the stuff I set out to do this would be a really boring blog, wouldn't it?
Anyway, these are the contributions to a Handmade Holiday that I have so far this year. There are more projects on the back burner to help ease my recovery, but we'll see how that goes. It might just be the year of the Granny Square after all. Heck I have been working on that project since last fall, so why not?
If blogging is sparse next week it is because the vicodin they gave me is making me too nauseous to type. Oh and the green things on the blue hat are supposed to be pickles. My husband informed me that they do not look like pickles.
