If you can handle the fact that there is no entertaining or anecdotal photo to accompany this post you will be rewarded with some (hopefully) new-ish blog gems that you really must read. Now.
So I am going to try to avoid the obvious ones that are so well done they are in everyones blogroll and concentrate on some cool peeps you may not know about but really should because they are truly awesome.
And lest there be a competitive streak in these folks, please note that there is no particular order.
Queenly Things - Apart from being one of the sweetest bloggers I know, she makes really super cool cute stuff. And she can alliterate like nobodies business.
Faith Salutes - Side splitting commentary on life that you may not always agree with, but you gotta hand it to her for having the kajones (cajones...kah-ho-nays) to say it (or write it, but something tells me she pretty much says what she thinks right when she thinks it. I like that in a person.).
Bits and Pieces - Another side splitter. I read her blog and laugh out loud almost every time.
Speckled Nest - Super talented friend of mine who really needs to post more so we can all see how talented she is and then eventually hate her for it because she is so much more talented than we are. Really. Go look at her stuff and then tell her to post more often.
Under Construction - Melissa is also majorly talented and writes fabulous tutorials. She posted an amazing number of tuts during the holidays. And all of them are super easy and very cool. She was even published in a book recently, but me being the lame-o I am can't remember which one. so you will have to go over there and read her blog to find out for yourself.
I Pray To Gouda - Ahhh. My old college roommate! The stories we could tell about each other, but don't because the last thing we need would be to sue each other over it. We have conversations about jow if we ever get lactose intolerant we'll just eat our fancy cheese in the bathroom to save time, because Lord knows we'd rather die than be without brie. Or gouda, or cheddar... K. maybe that was TMI, but it was a real conversation, I swear.
Sweet Jessie- Jessie was a holiday Handmade Parade contributer and has a fab blog and etsy shop that begs to be perused. I cannot wait to see what cool stuff she comes up with for '08.
KnitSonya - Love this girl's photos and knitting projects. I am not a knitter and most likely never will be (gotta draw the line somewhere), but her blog is interesting and funny and fun to read, so read on I will.
Bitter Betty Blogs- This woman is a handmade goddess. Not only is she the only person I know to have actually completed the Handmade Pledge (every freaking gift was handmade. All of them. And so. damn. cool!!) but she made 13 outfits for herself from vintage patterns. 13!!
Montessori By Hand - An expat living in Mexico, teaching at a Montessori. She has really interesting commentary on life in a foreign country and great projects to do with kids. Almost makes me want to send my kid to a Montessori School in Mexico. Or here. Whatever.
sweet juniper!- The witty journal of a stay-at-home dad(at least I think he's a stay at home dad. maybe he is a work at home dad...anyway) to a two year old girl and little boy on the way. The Friday Street Urchin feature should pique your interest.
The Sartorialist - The Style journal of a fashion photographer who takes pictures of people on the streets of Milan, Paris, New York and occasionally San Francisco. Love him, love the pictures. Makes me curse the fact that I am not a 6 ft waif who could wear anything. Or at least a 5 ft 6 pudge who could wear anything.
